What Is the M1671A Compatible 3-Lead ECG Leadwire?

The IPR Medical EL-PH3-90G-A is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 3-lead ECG leadwire that replaces OEM part M1671A. Intended for ECG monitoring with limb lead placement, it has grabber/pinch electrode ends, AHA color coding, and a 3.0 ft (0.9 m) length, and it is reusable. Compatible Monitor Models

The compatibility list for this leadwire is extensive. It names select Nihon Kohden models such as the BSM-8302A, OEC-7102A, and TEC-7300A, select Spacelabs models including the 90303B, 90724, and PCMS, and select Physio-Control models, with the Lifepak 6 among them. Select Welch Allyn, Ivy Biomedical, PaceTech, Solaris, Biolight, Newtech, and Bexen Cardio models are included too. Design and Construction

Three limb leads, color coded to the AHA standard as RA white, LA black, and LL red, finish in grabber/pinch electrode ends. The leadwire is shielded, uses a molded distal connector, and is 3.0 ft (0.9 m) long. It is a reusable accessory that can be cleaned between patients per facility protocol, and it is packaged one per bag.

When to Replace Your 3-Lead ECG Leadwire

A grabber that has lost its grip, insulation that is nicked or cracked, and a connector with bent pins or a loose housing are all good reasons to replace the leadwire. Watch the monitor as well: persistent lead-off alerts, a noisy trace, or an ECG signal that drops out when the leadwire is flexed usually means it is near the end of its service life. Clinical engineering staff can confirm the fault by substituting a known-good leadwire.
