What Is the Nihon Kohden BJ-900PA Compatible 10-Lead ECG Cable?

The IPR Medical EC-10013G-A is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 10-lead one-piece ECG cable that replaces the Nihon Kohden BJ-900PA. This reusable cable is intended for monitoring and brings together ten leads with grabber/pinch ends, AHA color coding, and a respiratory rate feature in a single cable.

Compatible Monitor Models

The EC-10013G-A is listed for select Nihon Kohden models: the BSM-3000, BSM-5100, BSM-6000, and BSM-9100, the AC 831V, and the TEC 8300, TEC 8321, TEC 8322, TEC 8332, TEC 8342, and TEC 8352. Design and Construction

As a one-piece cable, the EC-10013G-A carries ten leads for limb and chest placement, each ending in a grabber/pinch electrode connection, and the leads follow AHA color coding. Its cable length is specified as 7.2 ft (2.2 m) plus mixed 2.6 ft (0.8 m) and 3.9 ft (1.2 m) lengths, and it includes a respiratory rate feature. The cable is reusable, so it can be cleaned between patients in line with facility protocol, and it ships one per bag.

When to Replace Your 10-Lead ECG Cable

Plan to replace the cable when a grabber loses its grip on the electrode tab, when the jacket on the main cable or on any lead is cracked, frayed, or kinked, or when the device connector has bent pins or a cracked housing. Leads that drop in and out, persistent noise on one or more ECG leads, and lead-off alarms that clear when the cable is repositioned are also typical signs of wear. Checking the same equipment with a known-good cable is a straightforward way for biomedical staff to confirm the cause.
