What Is the Nihon Kohden JP-900P Compatible IBP Adapter Cable?

The IPR Medical IBP-NKB-BD40 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) invasive blood pressure (IBP) adapter cable that replaces the Nihon Kohden JP-900P. It is a reusable adapter cable for use with BD transducers, and it measures 13.1 ft (4.0 m).

Compatible Monitor Models

On the compatibility list for the IBP-NKB-BD40 are select Nihon Kohden BSM models, for instance the BSM-2301, BSM-6000 Series, BSM-9101K, and BSM-9510, as well as select Life Scope models (the Life Scope J and Life Scope TR) and select PVM and TEC models like the PVM 2703 and TEC 8300. A few BSM models are paired with an added YJ or AY part number, and the table keeps those pairings intact. Design and Construction

This adapter cable serves as the link between BD transducers and the compatible Nihon Kohden monitors listed in the table. It has a 13.1 ft (4.0 m) length and is packaged one per bag. Since this is a reusable cable, staff can clean it between patients under the facility’s own protocol and keep using it until an inspection turns up wear.

When to Replace Your IBP Adapter Cable

Replace the adapter cable if the jacket is cracked, cut, or kinked, if the transducer-end connector is loose, cracked, or no longer seats securely, or if the monitor connector shows bent pins or other damage. A pressure waveform that flattens or drops out, a channel that will not zero, and readings that shift when the cable is moved are common signs of a failing cable. Trying a known-good adapter cable with the same transducer and monitor helps biomedical staff isolate the fault.
