What Is the Nihon Kohden JP-960P Compatible IBP Adapter Cable?

The IPR Medical IBP-NKB-UT40 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) IBP adapter cable that replaces the Nihon Kohden JP-960P. Used for invasive blood pressure (IBP) monitoring with Utah transducers, it is a reusable cable with a length of 13.1 ft (4.0 m).

Compatible Monitor Models

Monitors listed for this adapter cable include select Nihon Kohden BSM models such as the BSM-2353, BSM-5100 Series, BSM-6701K, and BSM-9173, plus select Life Scope, PVM, and TEC models, for example the Life Scope TR, Vismo PVM-2703, and TEC 8342. Where a YJ or AY number accompanies a BSM model, that combined entry is the one to match in the table. Design and Construction

The IBP-NKB-UT40 is an adapter cable that joins Utah transducers to the compatible Nihon Kohden monitors in the table. It is 13.1 ft (4.0 m) long and comes one per bag. Between uses, the reusable cable is cleaned according to facility protocol, and it can stay in the equipment pool for as long as it checks out on inspection.

When to Replace Your IBP Adapter Cable

Replace the cable when the jacket shows cracks, cuts, or kinks, when the connection to the Utah transducer is loose or worn, or when the monitor connector has bent pins or a damaged housing. Noisy or damped pressure waveforms, a channel that drifts after zeroing, and readings that change as the cable is repositioned also suggest the cable is failing. Testing with a known-good adapter cable on the same transducer and monitor helps biomedical staff confirm the source of the problem.
