What Is the Nihon Kohden JT-900P Compatible 2-Channel Temperature Adapter Cable?

The IPR Medical TA-NK-2AD03 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 2-channel temperature adapter cable that replaces the Nihon Kohden JT-900P. It is intended for use with 400 Series temperature probes and has a 1.0 ft (0.3 m) length. The adapter is reusable, so it can remain in service through many patient cases when it is cleaned and checked between uses.

Compatible Monitor Models

The TA-NK-2AD03 is listed for select Nihon Kohden models: the BSM-4100 Series, BSM-5100, BSM-6000, BSM-9100, and TEC 8300. Check the Compatible Monitor Models table on the Specifications tab against your monitor before you order.

Design and Construction

This reusable adapter cable carries two temperature channels and is designed for use with 400 Series probes. Its 0.3 m length works out to roughly 11.8 in, and each cable is packaged one per bag. Between patients, clean the adapter per facility protocol and inspect the cable and its connectors before putting it back into service.

When to Replace Your 2-Channel Temperature Adapter Cable

Replace the adapter if the jacket is cracked, cut, or kinked, if a connector housing is broken, or if there are bent pins at either end. Temperature values that drop out, read far from the expected value, or change when the cable is flexed, as well as probe-off messages on a channel with a probe attached, are typical signs of a failing adapter. Trying a known-good probe and adapter on the same channel helps show whether the fault lies with the probe, the adapter, or the monitor.
