What Is the Spacelabs 700-0006-37 Compatible 5-Lead ECG Leadwire?

The IPR Medical EL-SLD5-90G-A is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 5-lead ECG leadwire that replaces the Spacelabs 700-0006-37. Five grabber/pinch leads for limb and chest placement terminate in a molded distal connector, and the lead type is listed as Spacelabs Molded Din-Style. The leadwire is reusable, shielded, and 3.0 ft (0.9 m) long.

Design and Construction

AHA color coding runs across all five leads: RA white, LA black, LL red, RL green, and V brown. Grabber/pinch ends attach to each electrode, and the distal end is a molded connector. Specifications list the leads as shielded and the length as 3.0 ft (0.9 m), about 35.4 in. Clean the reusable leadwire between patients per facility protocol; it comes packed one per bag.

When to Replace Your 5-Lead ECG Leadwire

Replace the leadwire if any grabber fails to close fully, if the molded connector is chipped or separating from the leads, or if insulation shows abrasion from bed rails and constant handling. On screen, a single lead that keeps reading off, or noise limited to one vector, points to a damaged conductor. Rotating a spare leadwire onto the same patient setup quickly confirms whether the old one is at fault.
