What Is the Siemens MP03412 Compatible 3/5-Lead ECG Leadwire?

The IPR Medical EL-SMB3-90G-A is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 3/5-lead ECG leadwire that replaces the Siemens MP03412. Grabber/pinch electrode ends, limb lead placement, and a Siemens Dual-Pin lead type define this reusable monitoring leadwire, which has an overall length of 3.0 ft (0.9 m).

Design and Construction

Every lead ends in a grabber/pinch connection, and the lead placement is given as limb lead. AHA color coding identifies the leads, which are shielded and gathered into a molded distal connector, and the assembly measures 3.0 ft (0.9 m) end to end. Your facility’s cleaning protocol governs reprocessing between patients; the leadwire is reusable and ships one to a bag.

When to Replace Your 3/5-Lead ECG Leadwire

Retire the leadwire once a grabber clip has weakened or cracked and starts slipping off the electrode during monitoring. If any lead shows damaged insulation, or the molded connector is split, chipped, or has bent or corroded contacts, the leadwire should come out of service as well. Intermittent lead-off alarms and artifact that appears whenever a lead is moved often trace back to a worn leadwire, and a known-good spare can confirm it.
