What Is the Nellcor D-YSE Compatible Ear Clip SpO2 Sensor?
The IPR Medical SS-001XC-AE10 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) adult ear clip SpO2 sensor that replaces the Nellcor D-YSE. This reusable sensor is designed for use with Nellcor OxiMax technology and has a 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable.
Compatible Monitor Models
Monitors listed as compatible with this ear clip sensor include select Nellcor models such as the N-560, N-600x, and NPB-4000, select GE Healthcare Dinamap, Dash, Solar, and Carescape monitors, select Mindray and Datascope Passport, Spectrum, DPM, iMEC, and BeneVision models, and select Welch Allyn, Nihon Kohden, Smiths Medical BCI, Criticare, Draeger, Edan, and Physio-Control Lifepak models, plus models from the other brands in the table. Design and Construction
The SS-001XC-AE10 is an ear clip style sensor sized for adult patients and intended for use with Nellcor OxiMax SpO2 technology. It comes on a 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable and is packaged one per bag. As a reusable sensor, it can be cleaned between patients per facility protocol and kept in rotation for as long as it passes inspection.
When to Replace Your Ear Clip SpO2 Sensor
Retire the sensor if the ear clip housing is cracked or no longer closes securely, if the cable jacket is cut, split, or kinked, or if the connector shows bent or damaged pins. Unstable SpO2 values, frequent sensor-off or poor-signal alarms, and readings that change when the cable is moved also point to a worn sensor. Testing a known-good sensor on the same monitor is a quick way for biomedical staff to rule the sensor in or out.
