What Is the M1668A Compatible 5-Lead ECG Trunk Cable?

The IPR Medical ET-5005R-PH-A is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 5-lead ECG trunk cable that replaces OEM part M1668A. This reusable trunk cable is defib-proof, carries the AHA designation, and runs 8.2 ft (2.5 m), serving both limb and chest lead placement during ECG monitoring. Compatible Monitor Models

Most of the models in the Compatible Monitor Models table on the Specifications tab come from the original equipment manufacturer. The list also reaches other manufacturers, with select Welch Allyn models such as the 242 and Propaq Encore 206EL, select Solaris models such as the NT3C and NT3F, and select Newtech and Nihon Kohden models (the NT3A and NT3B). Design and Construction

When to Replace Your 5-Lead ECG Trunk Cable

A failing trunk cable often shows itself as ECG traces that drop out on every lead at once, lead-off messages that persist after fresh electrodes and a different leadwire set are applied, or artifact that appears whenever the cable is flexed. Physical wear is just as telling: look for a cracked or kinked jacket, leadwire connections that feel loose, and bent pins or a cracked housing at the monitor connector. When the symptoms are unclear, test the monitor with a trunk cable you know is good; if the problem disappears, the old cable was at fault.
