What Is the M1669A Compatible 3-Lead ECG Trunk Cable?

The IPR Medical ET-3005R-PH-A is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 3-lead ECG trunk cable that replaces OEM part M1669A. Intended for monitoring with limb leads, it is a reusable 8.2 ft (2.5 m) cable with a defib-proof feature and the AHA designation; this replacement is offered in the AHA version only. To match it with your leadwires, refer to the Lead Type and Used With rows in the Specifications table.

Compatible Monitor Models

The Compatible Monitor Models table on the Specifications tab carries a broad list of models for this cable. Apart from the original equipment manufacturer’s own models, that list names select Smiths Medical / BCI models such as the SurgiVet V9200, select Welch Allyn models including the Propaq Encore 206EL and 242, and select Solaris models such as the NT3E. Select Newtech and Nihon Kohden models, such as the NT3A and NT3B, are on the list as well. Ordering is simplest when your monitor’s model number has been confirmed against that table first.

Design and Construction

When to Replace Your 3-Lead ECG Trunk Cable

Look for a jacket that is split, flattened, or stiff, a monitor connector with bent pins or a cracked shell, and leadwire connections that wobble or no longer hold firmly. On screen, a worn trunk cable tends to produce a flat or intermittent trace across all three leads, repeated lead-off alerts, or noise that comes and goes as the cable moves. If a known-good leadwire set does not clear the problem, a replacement trunk cable is the logical next test.
