What Is the M1520A Compatible 5-Lead ECG Trunk Cable?

The IPR Medical ET-5005R-AA-A is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 5-lead ECG trunk cable that replaces OEM part M1520A. Built for ECG monitoring with both limb and chest lead placement, this reusable cable is AHA-designated, defib-proof, and 8.2 ft (2.5 m) in length. To pair it with the right leadwires, check the lead type shown in the Specifications table.

Compatible Monitor Models

A broad group of models is listed for this 5-lead trunk cable. In addition to the many entries from the OEM of the replaced part, the table includes select Solaris models such as the NT3C, NT3E, and NT3F, select Welch Allyn models including the 242 and Propaq Encore 206EL, the Newtech NT3A, the SurgiVet V9200 under Smiths Medical / BCI, and select Nihon Kohden models. Design and Construction

Configured for five leads across limb and chest positions, the ET-5005R-AA-A follows the AHA designation and is listed as defib-proof. The cable is 8.2 ft (2.5 m) long and reusable, so clean it between patients the way your facility protocol directs. Each unit arrives in its own bag.

When to Replace Your 5-Lead ECG Trunk Cable

A worn trunk cable often shows up as ECG traces that cut out on all five leads together, artifact that changes when the cable is moved, or lead-off alarms that keep sounding after the electrodes and leadwires have been changed. During a physical check, look over the jacket for cuts, cracks, or crush damage, the leadwire end for a loose or worn fit, and the monitor end for a cracked housing or bent pins. If a known-good cable on the same monitor clears the problem, the original trunk cable is due for replacement.
