Design and Construction

The adult ear clip attaches to the earlobe, giving clinicians a monitoring site when fingers are unavailable or poorly perfused, such as during surgery, with peripheral vasoconstriction, or when the hands must remain free for procedures. The short 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable keeps the sensor lightweight at the patient, and it connects through a TruSignal interconnect cable to reach the monitor. Because the sensor and interconnect cable are separate, a worn sensor can be replaced without replacing the cable. The sensor is reusable after cleaning and disinfection according to facility protocol and ships one per bag.
