What Is the GE Marquette Compatible 5-Lead Safety DIN ECG Trunk Cable?

This GE Healthcare Marquette compatible ECG trunk cable is a reusable, aftermarket 5-lead patient cable that connects 5-lead leadwire sets with standard safety DIN (touch-proof) connectors to GE CARESCAPE, Marquette, and Datex-Ohmeda patient monitors. It supports impedance respiration monitoring and uses AHA color coding. It is a compatible replacement, not an original GE part, and it is built to OEM fit, form, and function.

Compatible Monitor Models

This compatible trunk cable is confirmed for use with GE CARESCAPE B450, B650, and B850 monitors and the GE B40, as well as the Aestiva/5 anesthesia system and GE Logiq 5 and 7 and Vivid 7, E80, E9, E90, E95, S6, T8, and T9 ultrasound systems with ECG input. It also fits Datex-Ohmeda E-PRESTN and M-PRESTN modules and Unity network systems, and the Draeger Narkomed 6400.

Design and Construction

The 8.2 ft (2.5 m) trunk runs from the monitor to a yoke with five safety DIN (touch-proof) receptacles, so it accepts standard 5-lead DIN-style leadwire sets in snap or grabber styles for limb and chest lead placement. Because the trunk and leadwires are separate, worn leadwires can be replaced without replacing the trunk. The cable supports monitoring use with impedance respiration and follows the AHA color standard. It is reusable after cleaning according to facility protocol and ships one per bag.

When to Replace Your GE 5-Lead ECG Trunk Cable

Replace the trunk cable when the monitor shows “leads off” or noisy, intermittent ECG with known-good leadwires and electrodes, when respiration readings drop out, when artifact appears as the cable is flexed, or when you find a cracked jacket, loose or worn DIN receptacles, or bent or corroded pins at the monitor connector. Swapping in a known-good trunk and leadwire set quickly identifies which component is at fault.
