What Is the Nihon Kohden BR-903PA Compatible 3-Lead ECG Leadwire?

The IPR Medical EL-NKB3-90G-A is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 3-lead ECG leadwire that replaces the Nihon Kohden BR-903PA. It is a reusable limb-lead leadwire with grabber/pinch electrode ends, AHA color coding, and a 3.0 ft (0.9 m) length, and its lead type is listed as Nihon Kohden BR-9XXP. It is intended for ECG monitoring.

Design and Construction

This leadwire has three leads for limb placement, each finished with a grabber/pinch electrode end, and it follows AHA color coding (RA white, LA black, LL red). It is a shielded leadwire with a molded distal connector and an overall length of 3.0 ft (0.9 m). Because it is reusable, the leadwire can be cleaned between patients per facility protocol and kept in service while it passes inspection. It ships one per bag.

When to Replace Your 3-Lead ECG Leadwire

Replace the leadwire when the insulation is cracked, cut, or kinked, when a grabber no longer closes firmly on the electrode, or when the connector shows bent pins or other damage. Noisy or wandering ECG traces, frequent lead-off alarms, and artifact that appears whenever the leads are moved are also common signs of wear. Swapping in a known-good leadwire on the same monitor is a quick way for biomedical staff to confirm the fault.
