What Is the Siemens MP03414 Compatible 5-Lead ECG Leadwire?

The IPR Medical EL-SM5-90G-A is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 5-lead ECG leadwire that replaces the Siemens MP03414 and Siemens 5956359. It pairs limb and chest lead placement with grabber/pinch electrode ends. The leadwire is reusable, runs 3.0 ft (0.9 m), and is meant for ECG monitoring.

Compatible Monitor Models

Select Draeger models on the list include the Infinity Delta, Infinity Kappa XLT, Infinity Vista, and SC 6000. The list also covers select Fukuda Denshi models such as the Dynascope DS-7100 and Dynascope DS-8200, select Skanray / Larsen & Toubro models such as the Planet 50 and Star 55, and select Kontron, DRE, Infinium, and Schiller models, together with the Arrow AutoCAT2. Design and Construction

Every one of the five leads terminates in a grabber/pinch electrode end, and under the AHA color code they read RA white, LA black, LL red, RL green, and V brown. They are shielded, join at a molded distal connector, and carry a Siemens Dual-Pin lead type. The leadwire measures 3.0 ft (0.9 m), can be reused after cleaning per facility protocol, and is bagged individually.

When to Replace Your 5-Lead ECG Leadwire

A grabber that no longer clamps securely, or whose hinge has cracked, can let an electrode connection drop out partway through monitoring. Other warning signs include frayed or split insulation on any of the five leads, a molded connector that is chipped or has bent contacts, and a trace that flattens or turns noisy when the leads are handled. Comparing performance against a known-good leadwire on the same monitor helps separate a leadwire fault from a monitor fault.
