What Is the Nellcor OxiMax Compatible Adult Finger Clip SpO2 Sensor?

The IPR Medical SS-003XC-AF30 is a compatible aftermarket adult finger clip SpO2 sensor (not an OEM part) built for Nellcor OxiMax pulse oximetry. It is a reusable hard-shell clip that fits on the patient’s finger and measures oxygen saturation and pulse rate for display on a compatible monitor. Its 9.8 ft (3.0 m) cable gives clinicians room to position the patient and route the cable at the bedside.

Compatible Monitor Models

This sensor is listed as compatible with select Nellcor pulse oximeters and Capnostream monitors, select Mindray and Datascope Passport, Spectrum, Trio, Duo, Accutorr, and V-Series monitors, select GE Healthcare Dinamap, ProCare, and Carescape monitors, select Welch Allyn Spot Vital Signs, Connex, and Propaq models, select Midmark and Cardell monitors, and select Criticare, Nihon Kohden, Omron and Colin, Physio-Control Lifepak, Zoll, and other monitors. Datascope Accusat and Edan elite V5, V6, and V8 monitors are listed only when equipped with the Nellcor OxiMax SpO2 option, and several Mindray and Datascope models are listed both as standard and with that option, so they appear in both rows of the table. Design and Construction

The sensor uses a hard-shell finger clip sized for adult patients and is designed around Nellcor OxiMax SpO2 technology. It has a 9.8 ft (3.0 m) cable and ships one per bag. As a reusable sensor, it can be cleaned between patients per facility protocol and the manufacturer’s instructions for your monitor, and kept in service as long as it passes inspection.

When to Replace Your Adult Finger Clip SpO2 Sensor

Replace the sensor when you see a cracked or broken clip housing, a hinge that no longer holds the clip closed on the finger, damaged or cloudy sensor windows, a cracked or split cable jacket, or bent or damaged pins at the monitor connector. Erratic or intermittent SpO2 readings, frequent sensor-off or no-signal alarms, or readings that drop out when the cable is moved are also common signs of a failing sensor. Trying a known-good sensor is a quick way for biomedical staff to isolate whether the sensor or the monitor is at fault.
