What Is the Compatible Masimo 2258 LNCS Y-I Multi-Site Sensor?
The Masimo 2258 (LNCS Y-I) compatible SpO2 sensor (IPR SKU SS-005RB-MY10) is a reusable multi-site Y sensor for monitors that use Masimo SET pulse oximetry with an LNCS sensor interface. It is a compatible aftermarket replacement, not an OEM Masimo product, built to match the fit, form, and function of the original Y-I sensor. The emitter and detector sit on separate flexible leads that split from a single cable in a “Y,” so they can be positioned on opposite sides of a foot, hand, finger, or toe. That makes one sensor usable across patient sizes from neonates to adults. The 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable ends in a Masimo LNCS connector, which plugs directly into LNCS-equipped Masimo devices or into an LNCS patient cable on other brands’ monitors that use Masimo SET technology.
Compatible Monitor Models
This compatible sensor works across a very broad installed base of Masimo SET-equipped devices. Compatibility includes Masimo Radical-7, Rad-5, Rad-8, Rad-57, Rad-87, and Pronto-7; Mindray and Datascope Passport, Spectrum, Accutorr, BeneView, BeneVision, DPM, iMEC, VS, and PM series monitors; GE Healthcare Dash, Solar, Eagle, Tram, CARESCAPE B650, B850, V100, and VC150, and Dinamap B105, B125, B155, and ProCare monitors, plus Corometrics fetal monitors; Philips IntelliVue MP-series and M3001A MMS configurations, SureSigns VS2 and VS3, and Heartstream XL; Physio-Control Lifepak 11, 12, 15, 20, and 20e; Zoll E, M, R, and X Series; Draeger Infinity Delta, Kappa, M540, and Narkomed 6400; Welch Allyn Connex Spot, Propaq, Spot Vital Signs, and 4700 Series; and Datex-Ohmeda S/5 and Giraffe Infant Warmer. The Specifications tab lists every compatible model. Confirm that your device is configured for Masimo SET oximetry, and whether it requires an LNCS patient cable, before ordering.
Design and Construction
The Y design separates the emitter and detector onto two small, flexible heads, so they can be aligned directly across from each other on sites a clip cannot reach, such as a neonate’s foot or palm, an infant’s great toe, or an adult finger. The heads are secured with a wrap suited to the patient and site, following your facility’s application protocol. Because one reusable sensor covers neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients, the Y-I simplifies stocking on NICUs, PICUs, and mixed-acuity units. The 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable terminates in a Masimo LNCS connector. The sensor is reusable and supplied as one set per bag.
When to Replace Your 2258 LNCS Y-I SpO2 Sensor
The thin leads on a Y sensor are the part most exposed to wear, especially where they split from the main cable. Replace the sensor when either lead is cut, kinked, or pulling away at the split, the emitter or detector face is cracked, scratched, or discolored, the LNCS connector is damaged or has bent pins, or the cable jacket shows cuts. Persistent “sensor off” alarms, low signal quality on a properly applied sensor, or readings that drop out when the cable is moved also point to a failing sensor. If a sensor fails to read on a monitor that passes self-test, try a known-good sensor and patient cable to isolate the fault quickly.
Cross Reference and Interchange Part Numbers
This compatible sensor cross-references to Masimo 2258 (LNCS Y-I), and to the OEM-labeled equivalents sold under other monitor brands, including Datascope 0010-10-43016, Draeger MP00789 and MP03023, and Spacelabs 690-0291-00. Aftermarket interchange numbers include Praymed PSF0153-S and PSF0204-S, Sage P109M-49M, and Tenacore TCPY-1404-0112 and TY1515Y03.
