What Is the Compatible Masimo 2644 Long Cable SpO2 Sensor?

The Masimo 2644 (Red DBI-dc8) compatible long cable SpO2 sensor (IPR SKU SS-009RB-AS36) is a reusable adult soft tip finger sensor. It plugs directly into devices with a 20-pin Masimo Red SpO2 port. This is a compatible aftermarket replacement, not an OEM Masimo product. It matches the 20-pin direct-connect design of the original and comes with an extended 11.8 ft (3.6 m) cable. The cable runs straight from the sensor to the monitor, so no separate patient cable is needed. The long reach suits bedside setups where a Masimo Rad or Radical oximeter, Lifepak 15, or Zoll X Series sits on a shelf, pole, or cart away from the patient. Design and Construction

The soft tip wraps the fingertip without the spring pressure of a hard shell clip. That makes extended bedside monitoring more comfortable, reduces pressure points on fragile skin, and helps the sensor stay in place on restless patients. It is sized for adult patients weighing more than 66 lbs (30 kg). The 11.8 ft (3.6 m) cable ends in a 20-pin Masimo Red connector that plugs directly into the device. When to Replace Your Long Cable SpO2 Sensor

Long direct-connect cables get stepped on, pinched in bed rails, and coiled repeatedly. Wear shows up along the cable as well as at the soft tip and the 20-pin connector. Replace the sensor if you see any of these signs: torn, stretched, or hardened soft tip material that no longer holds the finger securely; scratched or discolored emitter or detector windows; a cracked connector or bent pins; or cuts, kinks, or exposed shielding on the cable. Persistent “sensor off” alarms or readings that drop out when the cable moves also point to a failing sensor. If a sensor fails to read on a monitor that passes self-test, try a known-good sensor to isolate the fault quickly.
