What Is the Compatible Masimo 2502 Pediatric Soft Tip Sensor?

The Masimo 2502 compatible pediatric soft tip SpO2 sensor (IPR SKU SS-007RB-PS10) is a reusable pediatric finger sensor for Masimo SET-equipped devices that use the M-LNCS sensor interface. It is a compatible aftermarket replacement, not an OEM Masimo product, designed as a soft tip alternative to the Masimo 2502 (M-LNCS DCIP) pediatric clip. The 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable ends in an M-LNCS connector, which attaches to the monitor through an M-LNCS-compatible patient cable such as a Masimo rainbow RC-series or M-LNC cable. M-LNCS sensors are widely used on Physio-Control Lifepak 15 monitor/defibrillators, Biolight monitors, and the Masimo Radius-7. Design and Construction

It is sized for pediatric patients weighing approximately 22 to 110 lbs (10 to 50 kg). The 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable terminates in an M-LNCS connector. The sensor is reusable and supplied one per bag.

When to Replace Your Pediatric Soft Tip SpO2 Sensor

Reusable soft tip sensors wear with repeated cleaning and handling. Replace the sensor when the soft tip material is torn, stretched, or hardened and no longer holds the finger securely, the emitter or detector windows are scratched or discolored, the M-LNCS connector is cracked or damaged, or the cable jacket shows cuts or kinks. Persistent “sensor off” alarms, low signal quality, or readings that drop out when the cable is moved also point to a failing sensor. Keeping a pediatric spare on each unit or truck prevents staff from having to improvise with an adult sensor.
