Common Doppler Repairs
These are the faults we find most often on Parks Dopplers.
Batteries that won’t hold a charge
Expired or depleted batteries, corroded battery connectors and blinking low-battery lights.
Charging problems
Loose or failed AC connectors and charging ports that keep the Doppler from charging.
Weak or no heartbeat sound
Loose or damaged probe jacks and internal connections that cut the signal in and out. We test every unit with a known-good probe and tell you if your probe needs replacing.
Mismatched probe frequency
Each unit is tuned to a frequency, and a probe that doesn’t match it gives weak reception. We check both and tell you.
Excessive static
Static equalizer adjustment, worn volume controls and failing speakers behind noisy or faint audio.
Board and switch failures
Corroded main boards, loose on/off switch knobs and loose internal parts.

Parks Medical History: Six Decades of Dopplers
Parks has been building Dopplers since the 1960s, and its 811 series is one of the longest-running designs in medicine. Here is a short history and what it means for service today.
- 1961
Parks Electronics Laboratory
Loren Parks founds Parks Electronics Laboratory in Oregon. It becomes Parks Medical Electronics, based in Aloha, Oregon.
- 1960s on
An early Doppler maker
Parks describes itself as the second company in the world to make vascular Dopplers and now the oldest. Parks says its 811 series has been the most popular Doppler for more than 50 years, in hospitals, vascular labs and veterinary clinics alike.
- 2025
JLL Partners and VTI
In November 2025, private equity firm JLL Partners acquires Parks and combines it with Vascular Technology, Inc. (VTI), which JLL had invested in earlier that year, to build a larger Doppler and vascular diagnostics company.

Doppler Repair Questions
Why is my Doppler so staticky?
Some static is normal on these units. Excessive static usually comes from a worn probe, a probe whose frequency doesn’t match the unit, or a static equalizer that needs adjustment. We test the unit with a matching probe, adjust the static equalizer, and tell you if your probe needs replacing.
Who makes Parks Dopplers?
Parks Medical Electronics of Aloha, Oregon, founded in 1961 as Parks Electronics Laboratory. In 2025, private equity firm JLL Partners acquired Parks and combined it with Vascular Technology, Inc. (VTI).
Does my probe’s frequency matter?
Yes. Each 811 series Doppler is tuned to a specific frequency in MHz, and the probe should match it for clear reception. We note both on your evaluation and can supply a matching replacement probe if needed.
Do you repair Doppler probes?
No. We repair the Doppler units themselves, not probes. If your probe is worn or damaged, we can supply a replacement Parks probe matched to your unit’s frequency. Call us at (855) 477-8866 for availability.
Do you offer preventive maintenance and calibration?
Yes. Preventive maintenance and calibration are a flat fee. Contact us or call (855) 477-8866 and we will confirm pricing for your models.
Do you provide loaner Dopplers during repair?
We don’t offer loaners. If a Doppler isn’t worth repairing, you can decline the estimate and we can credit that unit toward a recertified Doppler.
How do I send my equipment in?
Submit an RMA request online. We email you a free inbound shipping label (FedEx or UPS), and you pack and ship your equipment to our Tustin, California facility.
What does it cost if I decline the repair?
Nothing. For customers in the United States, the shipping label, the evaluation and the return of declined equipment are free. Some large or specialty equipment carries an evaluation fee, and we always tell you before you send it in.
Do your repairs come with a warranty?
Yes. Every repair includes a 90-day warranty. Recertified equipment we sell comes with a 6-month or 1-year warranty depending on the model.
