The Smiths Medical CADD-Legacy® 1 (Model 6400) is a compact, proven ambulatory infusion pump engineered for continuous drug delivery across a wide range of clinical and home care settings. Built on the trusted CADD® platform — with a track record dating to the early 1980s — the 6400 delivers medication at a continuous rate programmable from 1 to 3,000 ml/day (approximately 0.04 to 125 ml/hr), with a nominal system delivery accuracy of ±6%. It supports intravenous, subcutaneous, intraperitoneal, intra-arterial, epidural, and subarachnoid space infusion routes, making it suitable for pain management, antibiotic therapy, chemotherapy, hydration, and nutritional support protocols.

At just 0.86 lbs with batteries and reservoir installed, the 6400 is highly portable and fits easily into a carry pouch for ambulatory use. Safety features include upstream and downstream occlusion detection, an adjustable air-in-line detector, and cassette detection, all backed by three programmable security lock levels and a 1,000-event downloadable pump history.
