What Is the M3702C / M3702A Compatible 10-Lead Diagnostic EKG Cable?

The IPR Medical EKC10R-PH-B-A is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 10-lead diagnostic one-piece EKG cable that replaces OEM parts M3702C and M3702A. Intended for diagnostic (EKG) use, it carries ten leads for limb and chest placement, each ending in a 4 mm banana connector, with AHA color coding and a defib-proof feature. The leads are built into the cable, and the complete assembly is reusable.

Compatible Monitor Models

This cable is listed for equipment from a wide range of manufacturers. Among them are select Welch Allyn models (the CP 10, CP 20, CP 50, CP 150, and CP 250), select Mortara / Burdick models such as the ELI 150, ELI 250, and ELI 350, select Mortara models such as the Surveyor S12/S19 and IQ Classic, and select Bionet, Spacelabs, Del Mar, Contec, and Comen models, among other brands. Design and Construction

Ten leads for limb and chest placement each terminate in a 4 mm banana connector, and the leads follow AHA color coding. Its cable length is specified as 7.2 ft + mixed 2.6 ft/3.9 ft leads (2.2 m + mixed 0.8 m/1.2 m). The cable is listed as defib-proof and is reusable. Facility cleaning protocol applies between patients, and the cable is supplied one per bag.

When to Replace Your 10-Lead Diagnostic EKG Cable

Diagnostic recordings tend to expose cable problems quickly: one lead with a noisy or flat trace, lead-off messages partway through an acquisition, or artifact that changes as the cable is handled. Inspect the banana connectors for bends or a loose fit, the jacket of the main cable and each lead for cracks or kinks, and the device connector for bent pins or a damaged housing. If a second recording with a known-good cable comes out clean, the original cable is the culprit.
