Enteralite Infinity (Blue)
The Moog EnteraLite® Infinity® (Blue) is the standard-volume model in Moog’s Infinity enteral feeding pump family — a compact, fully ambulatory rotary peristaltic pump that has been a fixture of home and alternate-site tube feeding programs across the United States for over 15 years. Designed for both pediatric and adult patients, it is the only enteral feeding pump in the US capable of evacuating all air from the bag set, enabling truly position-independent operation in any orientation. Whether the patient is in bed, walking, riding in a car, or attending school, the pump delivers accurately at the prescribed rate without air alarms triggered by movement or orientation change — and without the need for a drip chamber on the delivery set.
At just 14.4 oz and measuring roughly the size of a deck of cards, the Infinity Blue fits in a custom Moog carry pack and disappears into the background of a patient’s daily life. It delivers at rates from 0.1 to 600 ml/h with ±5% accuracy, stores up to 24 hours of runtime on its built-in Lithium-Ion battery. It can be cleaned by rinsing under running water. Programming is intentionally minimal: rate, dose, feed interval, and volume delivered are the only parameters, and all are controlled from a simple nine-key keypad. The Infinity Blue is compatible with 500 ml and 1200 ml bag sets as well as Safety Screw Spike sets for vented bottles.

Overview
The Moog EnteraLite® Infinity® (Blue) is the standard-volume model in Moog Medical’s Infinity enteral feeding pump family and has been one of the most widely used home tube feeding pumps in the United States for over 15 years. Developed originally by ZEVEX, Inc. and now manufactured and marketed under the Moog Medical brand, the Infinity Blue is specifically designed to allow tube-fed patients — both adults and children — to maintain active, mobile lives without being anchored to an IV pole or constrained by the limitations of traditional stationary feeding pumps. Its combination of true orientation independence, sub-one-pound weight, 24-hour battery life, and waterproof construction makes it genuinely wearable throughout a patient’s full daily routine.
The common shorthand “Blue” distinguishes this standard-volume Infinity model from the Infinity Orange, which is a separate small-volume variant optimized for pediatric patients requiring smaller bag volumes and tighter low-rate precision. Both share the same physical footprint and battery profile, but the Blue supports 500 ml and 1200 ml bag sets and delivers up to 600 ml/h, making it the appropriate choice for most adult and older pediatric patients on standard tube feeding regimens.
True Orientation Independence — The Core Clinical Advantage
The Infinity Blue’s most clinically significant design feature is its ability to operate accurately in any orientation — upright, inverted, horizontal, tilted, or jostled during walking, riding, or play. Most enteral feeding pumps require a drip chamber and depend on the feeding bag being hung at or above the pump level; if the pump tilts or the bag moves below the pump, air enters the system and triggers alarms. The Infinity eliminates this constraint by removing all air from the bag and tubing before the feed begins. With all air evacuated, the cassette-based rotary peristaltic mechanism pulls formula through the tubing regardless of gravity direction, and the optical air sensor only triggers when the bag genuinely runs empty — not from orientation-induced air bubbles.
This is why Moog describes the Infinity as the only truly 100% mobile nutrition delivery system in the US market. For a child in school who needs to feed during class, a working adult who needs nocturnal feeds but also travels, or a patient in a wheelchair using a backpack-mounted system, this distinction is the difference between a pump that fits into life and one that restricts it.
Programming, Feeding Modes, and Simplicity
The Infinity Blue is intentionally designed to minimize programming complexity. The nine-key keypad controls just four programmable parameters: rate (0.1–600 ml/h), dose (0.1–3,000 ml, or infinite), feed interval (for cyclic feeding), and volume tracking. All settings are retained in memory when the pump is powered off, so patients and caregivers do not need to reprogram the device before every feed. Three feeding modes cover the clinical scenarios that matter most for home tube feeding: a single feeding (specific dose delivered once, then pump stops or alarms DOSE DONE); an infinite dose (pump runs continuously until manually stopped or the bag empties); and interval feeding (programmed dose delivered on a repeating cycle, with the pump automatically pausing and restarting at the programmed interval — useful for nocturnal cycling or daytime bolus feeds spaced throughout the day).
The RATE/DOSE key toggles between the rate and dose displays, and the VOL/TOTAL key cycles between current-feeding volume and cumulative total volume — giving caregivers a quick way to verify actual delivery against the prescribed regimen without navigating menus. The CLEAR key resets individual settings or, when held for three seconds, clears all settings at once for a new patient or new regimen.
Battery, Portability, and Daily Life
The Infinity Blue’s internal Lithium-Ion battery delivers approximately 24 hours of runtime at 125 ml/h, making it well-suited for overnight nocturnal feeds without an AC connection and for full-day ambulatory use without recharging. The compact wall charger accepts 100–240 VAC input, supporting international travel. Moog recommends a 6-hour initial charge before the first battery-only use; subsequent charges take approximately 6 hours from a depleted state. The battery fuel gauge on the display provides an at-a-glance charge level, and a LOW BATT alarm fires before the battery reaches a critically depleted state to give caregivers time to connect the charger.
At 14.4 oz — under one pound — the pump is light enough for even young children to carry in a Moog carry pack without strain. Moog offers multiple carry pack configurations, including a small backpack with separate compartments for the pump and the 500 ml or 1200 ml bag, with integrated straps to secure tubing and prevent kinking during movement. The pack is machine-washable. The pump itself is IP25 water-resistant and can be rinsed under running water for cleaning between patients or after formula spills — a meaningful practical advantage for home care and pediatric settings.
Delivery Sets and Consumables
The Infinity Blue is compatible with four Moog proprietary delivery set configurations: the 500 ml Bag Set (INF0500-A), the 500 ml ENFit-only Bag Set (INF0500-E), the 1200 ml Bag Set (INF1200-A), and the Safety Screw Spike Set (INF0020-A) for patients using vented bottles or pre-filled containers. All sets feature ENFit connectors compliant with ISO 80369-3, which are designed to be incompatible with IV and other non-enteral lines to prevent dangerous misconnection events. All sets are DEHP-free and latex-free, important considerations for pediatric patients with known or suspected latex sensitivities. The in-line anti-free-flow occluder inside the teal tubing prevents gravity-driven formula flow when the cassette is not loaded in the pump.
Bag sets must be replaced every 24 hours; Spike sets must be replaced every 48 hours with a maximum of 1.5 L delivered per set. These replacement intervals are critical for maintaining delivery accuracy, ensuring proper air and occlusion sensing, and preventing bacterial growth in the set. Using non-Infinity delivery sets is explicitly contraindicated — non-proprietary sets will not deliver the correct dose, may allow dangerous free-flow conditions, and may generate unpredictable occlusion pressures.
IPR Medical stocks Infinity delivery sets for the EnteraLite Infinity Blue, providing facilities and home health agencies a single source for their pump service and consumable supply needs.
Maintenance — None Required
One of the most operationally attractive features of the Infinity Blue for home care providers and DME companies is its zero-scheduled-maintenance design. Unlike many infusion pumps that require annual preventive maintenance, calibration, or biomedical inspection, the Infinity pump has no manufacturer-required maintenance interval. Cleaning consists of rinsing the pump housing and cassette receptacle under running water with the charger disconnected and the pump off; a cotton swab is recommended for cleaning the cassette receptacle pathways. The optical air-in-line sensor should be inspected regularly and kept free of formula residue, which can adhere to the sensor and cause nuisance NO FOOD alarms. This low-maintenance profile reduces the total cost of ownership for home care agencies managing large pump fleets and simplifies the operational burden on home patients.
FDA Device Corrections and Safety Bulletins
The EnteraLite Infinity platform has multiple Class 2 device corrections on record with the FDA. Confirmed records include a Class 2 recall of the EnteraLite Infinity Enteral Feeding Pump (FDA ID 75996), a Class 2 recall of the Infinity Pump (FDA ID 114426), and a Class 2 recall of the EnteraLite Infinity Enteral Pump Delivery Set with ENFit Connector System and Transitional Stepped Connector (FDA ID 141973). Class 2 recalls indicate that use of the affected products may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, or that the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote. The delivery set recall in particular reflects the known history of quality issues with Infinity bag sets reported through the FDA MAUDE adverse event system, including leaks and bag integrity failures.
Action recommended: Facilities and home health agencies managing Infinity Blue fleets should verify whether their pump units and current delivery set lot numbers fall within any active recall scope using the FDA databases below. For delivery sets, inspect bags for signs of leakage, poor seam integrity, or degraded hard plastic components before use, and replace per the 24-hour/48-hour intervals specified in the Operator’s Manual.
