$1,095.00 Original price was: $1,095.00.$995.00Current price is: $995.00.

The Kangaroo™ OMNI™ Enteral Feeding Pump (Model 385400) is Cardinal Health’s current-generation enteral feeding platform and the designated successor to both the Kangaroo ePump and Kangaroo Joey. Launched as a platform intended to carry the Kangaroo brand from hospital to home across the full continuum of care, the OMNI holds the distinction of being the only FDA-cleared, attitude-independent enteral feeding pump in the U.S. designed to deliver thick, homogenized, and blenderized formulas in addition to standard enteral nutrition. That makes it the right pump for patient populations who have swallowing difficulties, GI motility issues, or who rely on whole-food blended diets.

At just 1.2 lbs without the pole clamp, the OMNI is significantly lighter than its predecessors, with a rubberized impact-resistant housing, an integrated handle, Night Mode for quiet overnight use, and IP26 water-jet-proof construction that lets you clean it under running water. It delivers formula at 1–400 ml/h with ±5% accuracy, runs up to 20 hours on a charge at 125 ml/h, and stores up to 30 days of feeding history — more than double the 72-hour log of the ePump. The color LCD display with animated setup guides, color-coded cassette system, and configurable 19-language interface all reduce training burden for caregivers in home and facility settings alike.

IPR Medical buys, sells, repairs, and stocks parts for the Kangaroo™ OMNI™ Enteral Feeding Pump. We also stock the Kangaroo OMNI ENtelliSet feeding sets and accessories, so you can get your pump and your consumables from a single source. Contact us at 855-477-8866 or cs@iprmed.com.

Overview

The Kangaroo™ OMNI™ Enteral Feeding Pump (Model 385400) is the current-generation flagship of Cardinal Health’s Kangaroo enteral feeding line, introduced as the unified replacement for both the Kangaroo ePump and Kangaroo Joey platforms. Cardinal Health built the OMNI around a single core premise: one pump that handles the full spectrum of enteral feeding needs from hospital admission through long-term home care, including the growing patient population that requires thick, homogenized, and blenderized formulas. The result is a device that is lighter, smarter, and more clinically versatile than its predecessors while retaining the ease-of-use principles that made Kangaroo a trusted name in enteral nutrition for nearly four decades.

Thick Formula Delivery — A Unique Clinical Capability

The Kangaroo OMNI is the only FDA-cleared, attitude-independent enteral feeding pump in the United States designed to deliver thick, homogenized, and blenderized formulas — including those classified as IDDSI Level 2, 3, or 4 drinks. This matters clinically for patients with dysphagia, gastroparesis, or other conditions that require a modified diet, as well as for the growing segment of patients who use commercially prepared whole-food blended formulas or prepare blended diets at home. The OMNI accomplishes this through its ENtelliSet™ feeding sets (identified by a green cassette), which feature specialized internal tubing geometry designed to handle the higher viscosity of thickened formulas without occlusion. Standard formula sets use a clear cassette, and Feed & Flush sets that add integrated hydration management use a blue cassette — the color-coded cassette system ensures the pump automatically applies the correct programming options for whichever set type is loaded.

Flow Control, Accuracy, and Feeding Modes

The OMNI delivers enteral formula from 1 to 400 ml/h with ±5% accuracy per IEC 60601-2-24 — an improvement over the ±10% specification of its predecessor, the ePump. The pump supports continuous feeding, intermittent feeding (single or multiple bolus feeds at programmed intervals), and a programmable Timed Pause mode that suspends delivery for 5–240 minutes without clearing the rate and volume settings, a practical feature for patients who need temporary feeding breaks — for repositioning, procedures, or rest — without requiring staff to re-enter all programming parameters each time. When used with Feed & Flush sets, the OMNI manages both the feeding and hydration flush cycles in a single integrated program, with an automated flush sequence that keeps tubes patent and reduces the need for manual flushing by nursing staff or caregivers.

Portability, Build Quality, and Ease of Use

Weighing just 1.2 lbs without the pole clamp, the OMNI is among the lightest full-featured enteral pumps available. The rubberized impact-resistant housing and integrated carry handle make it genuinely practical for ambulatory patients transporting the pump in a backpack or over-the-shoulder bag. IP26 water-jet-proof construction means the housing can be cleaned under running water — a meaningful infection-control advantage in both clinical and home care environments.

The color LCD display replaces the simple backlit monochrome screen of the ePump with a full-color interface that uses background color itself to communicate pump state at a glance: green means running, brown means paused, yellow indicates a caution-level alarm, and red flags a critical condition. Animated on-screen illustrations walk users through setup and priming steps, reducing the learning curve for patients and family caregivers managing feeds at home. Night Mode converts the display to a dim black-and-amber screen with a dedicated one-touch button, making overnight feeds far less disruptive for patients who are sleeping. The pump retains all rate and volume settings between power cycles, so caregivers do not need to reprogram the device for each feed cycle.

Battery and Power

The OMNI’s built-in rechargeable battery delivers approximately 23 hours of runtime at 50 ml/h, around 20 hours at 125 ml/h, and approximately 18 hours at a maximum rate of 400 ml/h — all charged via the included AC adapter. The battery charges continuously whenever the pump is plugged in and does not require the pump to be powered off. An initial charge of at least 12 hours is recommended before first use. The battery percentage is displayed continuously in the icon tray on the main screen, and low-battery notices appear at two thresholds: a caution notice when about 30 minutes of runtime remains, and a Dead Battery critical alarm when failure is imminent.

Clinical Monitoring and Safety Architecture

The OMNI stores up to 30 days of feeding and flushing history — more than 10 times the retention of the ePump’s 72-hour log — giving dietitians and clinicians a month-long record of actual volume delivered versus prescribed, which supports nutrition compliance assessments and care plan adjustments. An Interruption Monitor feature records instances where feeding was paused or missed, providing visibility into adherence gaps that might otherwise go unnoticed in home care settings.

Safety features include upstream and downstream occlusion sensors that detect blockages on both the bag side and the patient side, with on-screen location display that directs the user to the correct segment of tubing to inspect. An anti-free-flow valve integral to each cassette prevents formula from flowing freely if the set is unloaded from the pump. A Lock Settings feature accessible only through the Biotech technician menu prevents caregivers or patients from inadvertently changing programmed parameters, a useful control for home care patients where unauthorized adjustments carry clinical risk. The alarm system spans a tiered priority structure from low-priority informational notices through medium-priority operational alarms to high-priority critical alerts, with the LED array color coding mirroring the screen background to ensure alerts are visible from across a room.

Feeding Sets, Consumables, and the OMNI Ecosystem

The Kangaroo OMNI uses a proprietary cassette-based feeding set system. Sets are not interchangeable with the older ePump or Joey platforms. Four set families are available for the US market: the standard Kangaroo OMNI Feeding Set (clear cassette), the Kangaroo OMNI Feeding Set with Flush Bag (blue cassette), the Kangaroo OMNI ENtelliSet Thick Formula Feeding Set (green cassette), and the ENtelliSet Thick Formula Feeding Set with Flush Bag (also green cassette). All sets feature ENFit™ connectors compliant with ISO 80369-3, which feature a unique geometry that makes them incompatible with IV and other non-enteral lines — a safety design specifically intended to eliminate misconnection events. Downstream tubing runs 66 inches from cassette to distal connector; upstream tubing runs 24 inches for standard sets and 15 inches for thick formula sets. All sets are latex-free and single-use.

IPR Medical stocks Kangaroo OMNI ENtelliSet feeding sets and accessories, giving facilities and home care providers a single source for both the pump and their consumables — simplifying procurement, reducing vendor complexity, and ensuring supply continuity.

Transitioning from the Kangaroo ePump or Joey

For facilities that operated Kangaroo ePump or Joey fleets prior to those platforms’ discontinuation in 2024, the OMNI is Cardinal Health’s designated replacement. The feeding sets are not backward compatible — OMNI cassette sets cannot be used on ePump or Joey units, and ePump sets will not work on the OMNI — so a full platform transition is required when migrating a fleet. IPR Medical can assist facilities in planning and executing this transition, supplying refurbished and new OMNI units, sourcing replacement ePump or Joey units to bridge supply gaps, and providing service support for legacy pumps still in operation. Contact our team to discuss a fleet transition plan tailored to your patient census and budget.
