Precision syringe delivery for veterinary patients of all sizes

The Triumph SP12 is a full-featured veterinary syringe pump that delivers controlled medication via syringe at rates from 0.1 to 1500 ml/h with ±3% accuracy. It accepts syringes from 3 to 60 ml — one of the broadest size ranges in the veterinary-specific pump category — and automatically recognizes both the brand and volume of the installed syringe without requiring manual selection. This matters most in small-patient environments: for practices treating cats, birds, or exotics that depend on 3 ml and 5 ml dosing, the SP12’s small-volume compatibility is a meaningful advantage over larger-format pumps that bottom out at 10 ml. The pump supports Rate Mode, Time Mode, Body-Weight Mode, and Drug Library Mode, giving clinicians the flexibility to program straightforward fluid therapy or complex weight-based CRI protocols from the same device.

Touchscreen interface and alarm system

The SP12’s 4.3-inch color touchscreen is water-resistant to IP34, meaning it can withstand splashing fluids and solid particle ingress during normal clinical use — an important distinction in treatment rooms where cleaning and accidental spills are part of daily life. The full-screen color-coded alarm display makes alarm states immediately visible from across the room without requiring a clinician to step close to read small status text. Alarms are tiered by urgency, and non-critical alerts can be muted for two-minute intervals while the team responds. Bolus delivery is supported in both manual and programmable modes, and a screen lock with adjustable timeout prevents accidental parameter changes during active infusions.

Drug library and dosing flexibility

The SP12 ships with a built-in drug library that supports more than 15 dose rate unit types, covering the full range of veterinary CRI protocols including mcg/kg/min, ml/h, and other weight-based formats. The library is fully customizable — drugs can be added, edited, or removed by authorized users — and all editing is password-protected to prevent inadvertent changes during clinical use. The pump stores up to 5,000 event records and retains the last 20 most recent therapy programs for fast reprogram recall. Body-Weight Mode allows dosing to be programmed per patient weight so rate calculations happen inside the pump rather than on paper, reducing the risk of manual calculation errors.

Battery life and portability

The SP12 runs on a dual internal battery rated at 7.4V/2500 mAh that delivers over 9 hours of continuous runtime at 25°C and 5 ml/h — enough to cover most procedure and recovery periods without needing to locate an AC outlet. Charging from fully depleted to full takes less than 5 hours when the pump is powered off. The folding carry handle keeps the unit compact for storage or transport, the stackable design allows multiple SP12 units to be stored vertically without additional docking hardware, and the included universal pole clamp supports both standard IV pole mounting and cage mounting in a single accessory. When cage-mounting, the clamp is installed vertically with the split side of the clamp up.

Syringe brand compatibility

The SP12 comes preloaded with 9 syringe brands: Monoject, BD, Terumo, VetOne, Covetrus, Ecomed, Pivetal, Exel, and Nipro. Automatic syringe recognition identifies both the brand and size once the syringe is seated, reducing setup steps and confirming the correct calibration curve is active before infusion begins. Note that due to syringe plunger length differences, the 3 ml VetOne and 3 ml Monoject syringes are not compatible with the SP12. IPR Medical can assist facilities in identifying compatible alternatives and verifying current calibration status for their preferred brand. Because IPR calibrates to multiple syringe brands, your team can switch seamlessly when a preferred brand is on backorder without interrupting patient care protocols.
