Stryker/Gaymar T/Pump TP700
The Stryker/Gaymar T/Pump® TP700 is a professional-grade localized temperature therapy system that circulates temperature-controlled water through a Stryker Mul•T•Pad® to deliver precise warming or cooling therapy to targeted body areas. Four selectable setpoints — 50°F (cooling), 95°F, 100°F, and 107°F — cover everything from post-operative hypothermia prevention and edema management to chronic joint pain and muscle strain relief. The TP700 upgrades over the classic TP600 with a fourth warming setpoint (95°F), programmable therapy cycles (20-minute, 30-minute, or continuous), and a setpoint lockout feature that prevents accidental temperature changes mid-treatment. A three-layer safety architecture — dual temperature sensors, dual microprocessors, and a mechanical over-temperature thermostat — ensures the pad never exceeds the 107°F maximum contact surface temperature. At 6.5 lbs empty and with built-in hose and cord management, the TP700 is easy to position at bedside, in recovery, or in the OR.

Overview
The Stryker/Gaymar T/Pump® TP700 is a professional localized temperature therapy system designed for clinical use in hospitals, surgical suites, recovery rooms, orthopedic clinics, and long-term care settings. The system circulates temperature-regulated water from an internal reservoir through a Stryker Mul•T•Pad® applied directly to the patient’s skin, delivering consistent conductive thermal therapy without the variability of ice packs or electric heating pads. The TP700 is the professional-tier model in the T/Pump line, distinguished from the classic TP600 by its four temperature setpoints, programmable therapy cycle timers (20-minute, 30-minute, or continuous), and an operator-controllable setpoint lock that prevents inadvertent changes during active therapy.
Warming and Cooling Therapy
Heat therapy promotes vasodilation and increased blood flow to the treated area, making the TP700 effective for chronic joint pain, arthritis, tendonitis, muscle strain, post-operative recovery, and prevention of hypothermia during and after surgery. The three warming setpoints — 95°F, 100°F, and 107°F — provide clinical flexibility: the 95°F setting supports gentle warming for sensitive patients, while the 107°F setting is appropriate for robust heat therapy where tolerability has been established. Cooling therapy at 50°F assists in vasoconstriction, reduces inflammation, and provides pain relief during the acute phase of injury. The cooling mode uses ice added to the reservoir; as ice melts and the setpoint begins flashing, the operator refills and restarts the cycle. Multiple Mul•T•Pads can be interconnected via Clik-Tite® connectors for simultaneous therapy at more than one body site from a single pump unit.
Three-Layer Safety System
Patient safety is the engineering core of the TP700. The system uses two independent thermistor sensors feeding two separate microprocessors — one for temperature control and one dedicated to over-temperature detection. If the control processor fails to shut off the heater before the water temperature reaches the high-limit threshold (110°F–120°F), a third independent layer — a mechanical thermostat — interrupts the heater circuit and stops heat delivery. This redundant architecture prevents a single-point electronics failure from causing a dangerous over-temperature event. Maximum contact surface temperature is capped at 107°F regardless of setpoint selection, and the flow indicator cuts heater power if the pump is tipped and water flow stops. Stryker’s guidance calls for checking the patient’s skin every 30 minutes during active therapy and applying additional vigilance for patients who are unconscious, diabetic, or have impaired circulation.
Therapy Cycles and Setpoint Lock
The TP700’s programmable therapy cycle feature allows caregivers to select a 20-minute, 30-minute, or continuous therapy duration directly from the keypad. Timed cycles allow the system to run unattended for a defined treatment period without requiring staff to return and manually shut off the unit. The setpoint lock — unique to the TP700 series — prevents the patient or an unauthorized user from changing the prescribed temperature. Pressing and holding the lock button for two seconds engages or disengages the lock; the selected temperature remains active even if the keypad is accidentally bumped. This feature is particularly valuable in unsupervised recovery and pain management settings where consistent temperature delivery is critical.
Pads and Accessories
The TP700 is designed for exclusive use with Stryker Mul•T•Pad® products. The Mul•T•Pad’s random-flow internal button design allows water to circulate evenly and permits the pad to be folded into a custom fit around joints, limbs, or the torso without kinking the flow path — reducing the need for multiple specialty pad sizes in a facility’s inventory. Pads are available in four sizes (3″×23″, 13″×18″, 15″×22″, and 18″×26″) in both single-patient-use and reusable polymer variants. The TP700 ships with a 10-foot dual hose that connects to the pad via Clik-Tite® connectors (or quick-disconnect on the TP700C model), with built-in hose and cord storage on the pump body for organized transport. IPR Medical stocks Mul•T•Pad accessories and replacement parts for the TP700 platform.
FDA Device Corrections and Safety Bulletins
The FDA database records one device recall for the Stryker T/Pump TP700 and TP700C: recall number Z-1013-2018, a Class 3 action posted by the FDA on March 14, 2018 (Stryker Medical Division of Stryker Corporation, FEI #1831750). A Class 3 recall is the FDA’s least severe recall classification, defined as a situation in which use of the product is unlikely to cause adverse health consequences. Facilities with TP700 or TP700C units in service should verify their specific unit serial numbers against the FDA recall database to confirm applicability. IPR Medical recommends contacting Stryker Medical customer service at 1-800-327-0770 for unit-specific guidance.
Recommended actions for facilities with TP700 or TP700C units: Check your unit’s serial number against the FDA Medical Device Recalls Database using the links below. Because FDA device corrections and safety communications may be updated or expanded after the date of this listing, IPR Medical recommends that facilities also check the FDA’s official resources directly to ensure they have the most current information.
