Baxter Flo-Gard 6200
The Baxter Flo-Gard 6200 is a single-channel volumetric infusion pump built for reliable, accurate intravenous delivery of a wide range of fluids — including blood and fat emulsions — across primary and secondary infusion programs. Operating on standard 115 VAC power or its self-contained rechargeable battery, it delivers flow rates from 1 to 999 mL/hr in 1 mL/hr increments with a VTBI range of 1 to 9,999 mL. Automatic piggybacking switches seamlessly from the secondary program back to the primary when secondary infusion completes, and a built-in safety clamp prevents accidental free flow any time the pump door is opened.
The Flo-Gard 6200 is an older pump — discontinued by Baxter — but it remains one of the most straightforward, dependable large-volume pumps in clinical use today. Hospitals, long-term care facilities, outpatient clinics, and veterinary practices continue to rely on them for good reason: they are simple to load, simple to program, and built to last.
IPR Medical maintains a large inventory of Flo-Gard 6200 parts — including batteries, fuses, pump mechanisms, power cords, and more — to keep your fleet running strong. Whether you need a single unit serviced or a supply of components to support ongoing maintenance, we have what you need.

Dependable large-volume infusion — simple by design
The Baxter Flo-Gard 6200 is an electro-mechanical volumetric infusion pump designed for the intravenous delivery of a wide variety of fluids, including blood and fat emulsions, at user-selected rates. It is an older, discontinued model — but it has remained in active clinical service across hospitals, long-term care facilities, outpatient clinics, and veterinary practices for one straightforward reason: it works, and it keeps working. The Flo-Gard 6200 is easy to load, straightforward to program, and built with a mechanical reliability that modern facilities still count on.
Primary, secondary, and automatic piggybacking
The Flo-Gard 6200 supports both primary and secondary infusion programs with independently tracked VTBIs from 1 to 9,999 mL and flow rates from 1 to 999 mL/hr. When a secondary infusion completes, the pump automatically switches back to the primary program — no manual intervention required. Total volumes from both programs accumulate and can be displayed on demand, simplifying documentation at the bedside. Upon completion of the primary VTBI, the pump transitions to a keep-vein-open rate of 1 to 5 mL/hr to maintain line patency.
Safety features built into the hardware
The Flo-Gard 6200 includes an ultrasonic air-in-line detector that senses bubbles 0.05 mL or larger without nuisance alarms, upstream and downstream occlusion sensors, and a gravity free-flow safety clamp that automatically occludes the tubing any time the pump door is opened — preventing accidental free flow during set changes. A front-panel lockout feature discourages patient tampering without requiring staff to intervene. The spill-resistant pumping mechanism and molded plastic casing hold up to the demands of everyday clinical environments.
AC and battery operation
The Flo-Gard 6200 runs on standard 115 VAC, 60 Hz power or its internal 8-volt sealed lead-acid rechargeable battery, providing approximately 5 hours of runtime at 125 mL/hr on a full charge. The 8-foot hospital-grade power cord is replaceable, and fuses are user-accessible — both practical features for facilities managing a large pump fleet.
IPR Medical keeps your Flo-Gard 6200 fleet running
