The Jorvet Vet-Pro VIP 2000 is a compact veterinary infusion pump manufactured by Caesarea Medical Electronics and distributed through Jorgensen Labs. At under 1 lb with battery and barely larger than a soda can, it is one of the smallest and lightest veterinary infusion pumps available — purpose-built for clinic, mobile, and home care environments where portability and ease of use are priorities.

Despite its compact size, the Vet-Pro 2000 delivers a comprehensive clinical feature set: five infusion programs including Continuous, 25-Step Protocol, TPN with automatic taper up/down, Intermittent, and PCA with up to five lockable drug protocols. Flow rates range from 0.1 to 1,200 ml/h at ±5% accuracy, with an ultrasonic adjustable air-in-line sensor, three-level adjustable occlusion pressure, Anti-Bolus System (ABS), and a 15-hour battery life at 125 ml/h. The pump latches into a pole-mounted charger and charges automatically whenever connected.

IPR Medical buys, sells, repairs, and stocks parts for the Vet-Pro VIP 2000, keeping these reliable pumps in service for veterinary practices across the country.

The smallest pump in veterinary practice — with a full clinical feature set

The Vet-Pro VIP 2000 is one of the most compact and lightweight veterinary infusion pumps ever made. At under 1 lb with battery and measuring just 4.4″ × 3.5″ × 1.3″, it is barely larger than a soda can — yet it delivers five complete infusion programs, a 15-hour battery life, ultrasonic air detection, and a full locking and PCA system that many larger pumps don’t match. It latches into a pole-mounted charger base and charges automatically whenever it is docked. Detach it and carry it — the pump runs entirely on battery with no change to operation.

Five infusion programs for any clinical scenario

The Vet-Pro 2000 offers five programs selectable from the keypad. Continuous mode covers standard rate-over-volume or volume-over-time infusions from 0.1 to 1,200 ml/h. The 25-Step Protocol allows up to 25 individually configured rate-and-volume steps in sequence — up to 10 liters accumulated — with a programmable rate taper. TPN mode delivers a full trapezoid infusion pattern with configurable taper-up time, flat rate period, and taper-down time; the pump calculates and displays the maximum rate for verification before starting. Intermittent mode runs a dose-at-interval program with KVO between doses — useful for IV antibiotic protocols and similar scheduled therapies. PCA mode combines a continuous basal rate with up to five lockable, named drug protocols, lockout time between boluses, a 4-hour volume limit, and a 24-hour graphical bolus history.

Anti-Bolus System and ultrasonic air detection

The built-in Anti-Bolus System (ABS) automatically reverses the pump mechanism upon a downstream occlusion alarm, returning line pressure to neutral within 15 seconds. This prevents the inadvertent fluid bolus that can occur when a downstream clamp is released after an occlusion — a meaningful safety feature for any patient but particularly important for small and pediatric-equivalent veterinary patients. The maximum volume deliverable under a single fault condition is 0.1 ml. The ultrasonic air sensor provides both single-bubble detection at an adjustable threshold and a cumulative air accumulation function that monitors total air volume over a 0.5 ml moving window — catching the small repeated bubbles that single-event sensors miss.

Three-level locking for secure clinical and home care use

The Vet-Pro 2000 supports three independent locking levels. Level 1 key-locks the keypad to prevent accidental changes during infusion. Level 2 locks the program parameters entirely — useful for home care patients who repeat the same protocol daily without staff present. Level 3 sets a maximum rate ceiling, allowing the pump to be operated within a safe upper boundary regardless of what rate a user attempts to enter. All locking levels are code-protected and persist in memory until changed.
