What Is the Nellcor D-YS Compatible Multi-Y SpO2 Sensor?

The IPR Medical SS-001XC-MY10 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) Multi-Y SpO2 sensor that replaces the Nellcor D-YS. It is a reusable sensor rated for all patient sizes, designed for use with Nellcor OxiMax technology, and fitted with a 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable.

Compatible Monitor Models

Compatibility listings for this sensor include select Nellcor models such as the N-395, N-600x, and NPB-40, select GE Healthcare Dinamap, Dash, Solar, and Carescape monitors, select Mindray and Datascope Passport, Spectrum, DPM, iMEC, BeneView, and BeneVision models, and select Welch Allyn, Nihon Kohden, Smiths Medical BCI, Criticare, Draeger, Edan, and Physio-Control Lifepak models, along with models from the other brands listed in the table. Some Mindray / Datascope, PaceTech, and Welch Allyn models are listed for use with the Nellcor SpO2 option; those configurations are shown in separate rows of the table. Design and Construction

The SS-001XC-MY10 is a Multi-Y design rated for all patient sizes and intended for use with Nellcor OxiMax SpO2 technology. It has a 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable and ships as one set per bag. Because the sensor is reusable, it can be cleaned between patients following facility protocol and kept in service while it continues to pass inspection.

When to Replace Your Multi-Y SpO2 Sensor

Take the sensor out of service if the cable jacket is split, cracked, or kinked anywhere along its length, if the sensor housing is cracked or discolored, or if the connector has bent or damaged pins. Intermittent or dropping SpO2 values, repeated sensor-off or low-signal alarms, and readings that change when the cable is moved are also common signs of wear. Biomedical staff can confirm the fault quickly by trying a known-good sensor on the same monitor.
