What Is the Nellcor MAXFAST Compatible Forehead SpO2 Sensor?

The IPR Medical SS-001XC-FH10 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) forehead SpO2 sensor that replaces the Nellcor MAXFAST. It is specified for all patient sizes, is reusable, and is intended for use with Nellcor OxiMax technology, with a 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable.

Compatible Monitor Models

Compatibility for this forehead sensor is listed for select Nellcor models such as the N-600x, NPB-3910, and Symphony N-3000, select GE Healthcare Carescape, ProCare, Dash, and Solar models, and select Mindray / Datascope BeneVision, Passport, Spectrum, and DPM models. Select Welch Allyn Propaq, Nihon Kohden BSM, Smiths Medical / BCI, Ivy Biomedical, Criticare / CSI, and Physio-Control Lifepak models are listed too, as are models from the other brands in the table. Some Datex-Ohmeda, Mindray / Datascope, and Welch Allyn models are listed for use with the Nellcor SpO2 option; those configurations appear in separate rows. Design and Construction

The SS-001XC-FH10 is a forehead sensor specified for all patient sizes and designed for use with Nellcor OxiMax SpO2 technology. It has a 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable and is packaged as one set per bag. Since it is reusable, it can be cleaned between patients per facility protocol and kept in service for as long as it passes inspection.

When to Replace Your Forehead SpO2 Sensor

Replace the sensor if the sensor body is cracked, torn, or worn, if the cable jacket is split, cut, or kinked, or if the connector is bent or damaged. Readings that drop out, recurring sensor-off or low-signal alarms, and values that change when the cable is moved also suggest the sensor is due for replacement. Trying a known-good sensor on the same monitor helps biomedical staff confirm where the problem lies.
