What Is the Nellcor OXI-P/I Compatible Infant Soft Tip SpO2 Sensor?

The IPR Medical SS-001XC-IS10 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) infant soft tip SpO2 sensor that replaces the Nellcor OXI-P/I. It is a reusable sensor sized for infants and intended for use with Nellcor OxiMax technology, and it has a 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable.

Compatible Monitor Models

Compatible equipment listed for this soft tip sensor includes select Nellcor models such as the N-65, N-395, and NPB-3940, select GE Healthcare Carescape, Dinamap ProCare, Dash, and Solar models, and select Mindray / Datascope Spectrum, cPM, ePM, and BeneVision models. Select Welch Allyn Propaq, Nihon Kohden, Fukuda Denshi, Criticare / CSI, Biolight, and Physio-Control Lifepak models are included as well, along with models from the other brands listed in the table. Some Mindray / Datascope, PaceTech, and Welch Allyn models are listed for use with the Nellcor SpO2 option; those configurations appear in separate rows. Design and Construction

The SS-001XC-IS10 features a soft tip sensor sized for infant patients and designed for use with Nellcor OxiMax SpO2 technology. It comes with a 3.3 ft (1.0 m) cable and is packaged one per bag. Because the sensor is reusable, it can be cleaned between patients per facility protocol and remain in service as long as it passes inspection.

When to Replace Your Infant Soft Tip SpO2 Sensor

Replace the sensor if the soft tip is split, stretched, or no longer fits securely, if the cable jacket is cut, cracked, or kinked, or if the connector is bent or damaged. Signs such as SpO2 dropouts, frequent sensor-off or low-signal alarms, and readings that vary when the cable is moved also indicate a worn sensor. Testing with a known-good sensor on the same monitor lets biomedical staff rule the sensor in or out quickly.
