What Is the Nihon Kohden TL-651T3 / TL-631T3 Compatible Adult Soft Tip SpO2 Sensor?

The IPR Medical SS-043-AS16 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) adult soft tip SpO2 sensor that replaces the Nihon Kohden TL-651T3 and TL-631T3. It is a reusable sensor with a 5.2 ft (1.6 m) cable, intended for use with Nihon Kohden SpO2 technology. Facilities that reorder either Nihon Kohden part number can use this compatible sensor in its place for adult patients on the models shown on the Specifications tab.

Compatible Monitor Models

Listed compatibility for the SS-043-AS16 includes select Nihon Kohden models such as the 2303 Life Scope I, BSM-2351A, BSM-5100 Life Scope A, BSM-6301K, BSM-9800 Life Scope S, OLV-3100J/K, PVM-2701, SVM-7000 Series, and ZM-520-PA, as well as the Oxipal P225F. Design and Construction

This adult sensor uses a soft tip design on a 5.2 ft (1.6 m) cable and is intended for use with Nihon Kohden SpO2 technology. It is a reusable sensor, supplied one per bag. Clean it between patients in line with facility protocol, and look over the tip and the full length of the cable before returning it to service.

When to Replace Your Adult Soft Tip SpO2 Sensor

Retire the sensor when the soft tip is torn, cracked, or no longer holds its shape, when the cable jacket shows cuts or kinks, or when the connector has bent pins or a damaged housing. SpO2 readings that drift or drop out, repeated sensor-off alarms, and values that jump when the cable is handled are further signs that the sensor is worn. Checking the monitor with a known-good sensor helps confirm whether the sensor or the monitor is the source of the problem.
