What Is the AAMI Compatible IBP Adapter Cable (IBP-AM-UT40)?
The IBP-AM-UT40 is a compatible aftermarket invasive blood pressure (IBP) adapter cable that bridges an AAMI 6-pin patient monitor input and a Utah-type disposable pressure transducer. It carries the low-level pressure signal from the transducer to the monitor, allowing clinicians to view real-time arterial, central venous, and other invasive pressure waveforms. This cable is a compatible replacement and is not an OEM product; IPR Medical is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any original equipment manufacturer referenced on this page.
Compatible Monitor Models
Because it terminates in the universal AAMI 6-pin keyed connector, the IBP-AM-UT40 works across a broad range of patient monitors that follow the AAMI pressure interface standard. Confirmed compatible systems include monitors from Bard Medical, Dixtal, Edan, Generra, Invivo, Ivy Biomedical, Mindray/Datascope, Mortara/Burdick, PaceTech, Philips, Smiths Medical/BCI, Spacelabs, Stryker/Medtronic/Physio Control, Tektronix, Vitalert, Welch Allyn, and Zoll. The transducer end mates with Utah-style disposable pressure transducers. A full model-by-model breakdown is provided in the Specifications tab. If your monitor or transducer is not listed, contact IPR Medical and we will help verify the correct cable for your configuration.
Design and Construction
This adapter cable measures 13 ft (4.0 m) and uses a flexible 4 mm gray TPU jacket selected for durability and resistance to repeated handling, coiling, and wipe-down disinfection. The monitor end features a round, keyed male 6-pin AAMI connector for a secure, correctly oriented fit, while the transducer end provides a Utah connector. The cable is latex-free and reusable, and is manufactured to FDA, CE, ISO 10993, and RoHS standards. As a reusable component, it is designed to deliver a clean, stable pressure signal across many transducer change-outs.
When to Replace Your IBP Adapter Cable
An IBP adapter cable should be replaced when it shows signs of physical or electrical wear that can compromise pressure readings. Common indicators include a noisy, drifting, or dampened waveform, intermittent signal loss when the cable is flexed, visible cracking or kinking of the jacket, bent or corroded connector pins, or a connector that no longer seats firmly in the monitor or transducer. Because invasive pressure monitoring directly informs clinical decisions, keeping a tested spare cable on hand helps avoid downtime during critical care. IPR Medical stocks these cables for fast replacement and can also evaluate and repair patient monitoring assets that need service.
Cross Reference and Interchange Part Numbers
The IBP-AM-UT40 is referenced across the industry under several interchange numbers. It corresponds to the Utah Medical 650-208 Utah-connector interface and to the Cables and Sensors equivalent IC-6P-UT0. These cross-references are provided to help biomedical and procurement teams confirm compatibility when sourcing replacement cables across different supplier catalogs. A complete interchange table is provided in the Specifications tab.
