What Is the M1602A Compatible 5-Lead ECG Leadwire?

The IPR Medical EL-PHV5-90S-A is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) 5-lead ECG leadwire that replaces OEM part M1602A. All five leads are chest leads, each ending in a snap electrode connection, and the leadwire follows AHA color coding with a 3.0 ft (0.9 m) length. It is a reusable accessory intended for ECG monitoring.

Design and Construction

The EL-PHV5-90S-A carries five chest leads with snap electrode ends, color coded to the AHA standard. Shielded construction, a molded distal connector, and a 3.0 ft (0.9 m) cable length are listed for this set. Check the lead type shown in the Specifications table against the leadwire you are replacing. It is packed one per bag and, as a reusable leadwire, can be cleaned between patients according to facility protocol.

When to Replace Your 5-Lead Chest ECG Leadwire

Plan a replacement when a snap no longer seats firmly on the electrode stud, when the insulation on any lead is cracked, stiff, or kinked, or when the connector shows bent pins or a damaged housing. A chest lead that triggers repeated lead-off alerts, a wandering or noisy baseline on the chest lead channels, and artifact that appears when the cable is handled are also signs of wear. Testing with a known-good leadwire on the same monitor helps biomedical staff confirm whether the leadwire or the monitor is at fault.
