What Is the Spacelabs Compatible Adult Skin Surface Temperature Probe?

The IPR Medical TS-SL-AS30 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) adult skin surface temperature probe for use with select Spacelabs models. It carries a 0.35 in (9.0 mm) probe disc and a 9.8 ft (3.0 m) cable, and it is reusable. Compatible Monitor Models

Design and Construction

Sized for adult patients, this probe takes its reading at the skin surface through a 0.35 in (9.0 mm) probe disc, on a cable that runs 9.8 ft (3.0 m). Being reusable, the probe can be cleaned and disinfected between patients in line with facility protocol, and it is supplied one per bag.

When to Replace Your Skin Surface Temperature Probe

Retire the probe once the disc is cracked, loose, or separating from its cable, once the jacket is split or kinked, or once the connector housing is damaged. Readings that wander, spike, or drop out with cable movement also suggest internal wear. A quick comparison against a second probe known to read correctly will confirm whether the original is the problem.
