Design and Construction

The TS-V2 set measures 67 inches (approximately 5.6 feet) in total length, providing sufficient reach for most veterinary pump-to-patient configurations without excess slack. The set includes a vented spike with protective cap for aseptic entry into IV bags or bottles, and an upstream drip chamber allowing visual flow verification throughout the transfusion. An integrated 15 micron inline filter is designed to trap particulate matter, micro-clots, and debris commonly present in blood and plasma products, reducing contamination risk during administration.

A roller clamp provides manual flow control, and the distal end terminates in a standard male Luer lock connector fitted with a protector cap for sterile storage until connection. An injection site is included along the line for secondary medication administration without breaking the closed system. The set delivers at a drop factor of 20 drops/mL and is constructed from PVC tubing. Note that this product contains DEHP. Each set is sterilized by Ethylene Oxide (ETO) and carries a shelf life of 3 years from the date of manufacture.

When to Replace the TS-V2 Administration Set

The TS-V2 is rated for single use and should be replaced at a minimum of every 24 hours during continuous infusion therapy. It must be replaced immediately if the line becomes kinked, cloudy, contaminated, or mechanically compromised. A new administration set should always be used at the start of each new blood or plasma unit transfusion.
