What Is the YSI 427 Compatible Pediatric/Neonate Skin Surface Temperature Probe?

The IPR Medical TS-Y400-PS30 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) pediatric/neonate skin surface temperature probe that replaces the YSI 427. It measures through a 0.24 in (6.0 mm) probe disc, uses 400 Series temperature technology, and comes on a 9.8 ft (3.0 m) cable. It can be reused after cleaning.

Compatible Monitor Models

This pediatric/neonate skin probe appears on compatibility lists for a wide mix of monitor brands. Select Edan models such as the iM80 and F9 Express, select MEK models such as the MP 500 and MP 700, and select Cardell models such as the 9405 and 9500HD are included, along with the Mennen VitaLogik 4000 and VitaLogik 6000. Design and Construction

Patient sizing is pediatric/neonate, and the probe uses a 0.24 in (6.0 mm) disc for skin surface measurement. Its temperature technology is 400 Series, and the cable is 9.8 ft (3.0 m) long. Each probe ships in its own bag; reprocess it between patients per facility protocol, handling the disc and cable with care.

When to Replace Your YSI 427 Compatible Skin Surface Probe

Retire the probe when skin temperature values become noisy, read implausibly, or drop out as the patient moves. Visible signs include a cracked or lifting disc, cuts or kinks in the cable, and a connector that no longer seats securely. Checking with a probe that is known to work, on the same monitor, helps confirm that this probe is at fault.
