What Is the Draeger MS18683 Compatible SpO2 Adapter Cable?

The IPR Medical SA-028X-12 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) SpO2 adapter cable that replaces the Draeger MS18683. For use with Nellcor OxiMax sensors, it has a 3.9 ft (1.2 m) cable and is designed to be reused once it has been properly cleaned.

Compatible Monitor Models

Five select Draeger models are on record for the MS18683 replacement, all from the Infinity line: Infinity Delta, Infinity Gamma, Infinity Kappa, Infinity MultiMed Pod, and Infinity Vista. Design and Construction

With a cable length of 3.9 ft (1.2 m), the SA-028X-12 is intended for use with Nellcor OxiMax SpO2 technology. It is supplied one per bag as a reusable accessory. Follow the cleaning steps in your facility’s protocol between patients, and inspect the cable for kinks or wear before each use.

When to Replace Your SpO2 Adapter Cable

Common physical reasons to replace this adapter include a frayed or punctured jacket, a cracked connector shell, and strain relief that has loosened at either end. During monitoring, an SpO2 value that flickers or blanks, a weak or missing pleth waveform, and sensor alarms with a correctly placed sensor can all point to the cable. Confirm the cause by connecting a spare adapter in known working condition.
