What Is the Welch Allyn 008-0864-00 Compatible NIBP Air Hose?

The IPR Medical BPH-AS18-09M-10 is a compatible aftermarket (not OEM) NIBP air hose that replaces the Welch Allyn 008-0864-00. Intended for reuse with adult and pediatric patients, it is a 5.9 ft (1.8 m) single-tube hose with a female threaded BP plug, and it is used with a 1-tube female Submin cuff.

Design and Construction

This hose runs a single tube for 5.9 ft (1.8 m). Its BP plug is designated female threaded, and it is matched to 1-tube female Submin cuffs. It is reusable and packed one per bag; clean it between patients as your facility protocol directs, and check the threaded plug for damage each time you reconnect it.

A threaded plug that has been cross-threaded, flattened, or cracked can stop sealing, so start any inspection there. Then work along the tubing for splits, abrasion, hardened or sticky sections, and kinks that will not relax. Measurements that abort, cuffs that inflate slowly, and recurring leak alarms all suggest the hose is losing air; a known-good hose on the same monitor will confirm it.
